RIYADH – The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) has announced the shortlisted bidders for the fifth round of solar projects under the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP). Under the leadership and supervision of the Ministry of Energy, NREP aims to increase the renewable share in the kingdom’s power energy mix to 50% by 2030.
On 08 February 2024, SPPC launched the Request for Proposals (RFP) for Round 5 Solar projects with combined capacity 3700 MW which includes:
In August 2024, six bids were received for each project. Bids were evaluated to ensure compliance with the RFP’s technical and commercial requirements.
